2014 FANTASY BASEBALL THIRD BASEMAN I LIKE/HATE MORE THAN YOU

Third base is now up as I continue to plow ahead by checking in at all of the positions to identify the fantasy baseball stocks I like/hate more than you.

THIRD BASEMAN I LIKE MORE THAN YOU

Josh Donaldson:  Many will want to see Donaldson do it again which means I can hopefully get him cheaper than a 24 HR and 93 RBI third baseman should be.  I am here to tell you what Donaldson did last season in placing fourth in the MVP race was in fact legit.  Remember that Donaldson hit .290 the second half of 2012 so his breakout goes back further than you think.

Brett Lawrie:  I admit that I continue to get seduced by the power/speed combination and that great home ballpark.  The health woes are beyond frustrating though so I don't blame anyone who swears off this one for good.

Manny Machado:  There is a great deal of you out there leery of investing in Machado due to him coming off knee surgery and after having witnessed his second half flameout last season.  Well Machado is ahead of schedule in his recovery and is now slated to be ready to go for Opening Day.  In addition Machado has a batting approach that is beyond his years and he will be a monster stud very soon.

THIRD BASEMAN I HATE MORE THAN YOU

Pablo Sandoval:  I am tired of Sandoval and the whole Kung Fu Panda garbage.  The guy has been a colossal letdown for two years running now and I also am sick of having to check out his weight all the time.  Monitoring weight should not be a stat that needs to be checked on in fantasy baseball and that is especially true if your third baseman struggled to hit 20 home runs.

Ryan Zimmerman:  The numbers are always there in the end but the annual slow starts and DL stint are beyond annoying.  Get me off this roller coaster ride.

Pedro Alvarez:  Yeah the power is top notch but keep in mind those nice home run totals are offset by a horrid batting average.  In reality Alvarez is only a two category contributor (home runs and RBI) but the average is beyond ugly.

There you have it.  As always let us hear your thoughts.

Be sure to check back for more of the starting pitching rankings as we move forward through the week.  Let us hear your thoughts.
