FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING HOT STOVE NEWS: METS SIGN SP BARTOLO COLON FOR TWO YEARS AND $20 MILLION

The New York Mets signed free agent SP Bartolo Colon to a two-year deal worth $20 million dollars.  Colon turns 41 in May but comes off a 2013 All Star season when he posted a 2.65 ERA.  A PED suspension stemming from Biogenesis however always leaves raised eyebrows when it comes to his performance.

Analysis:  Colon will help the Mets as a third starter behind Jon Niese and Zack Wheeler but the elephant in the room is his history with performance enhancing drugs.  His K rate is awful despite the great ERA's so don't buy Colon as anything more than an SP 5.
