FANTASY BASEBALL HOT STOVE BREAKING NEWS: GIANTS INK SP TIM HUDSON TO TWO-YEAR DEAL FOR $23 MILLION

Tim Hudson became the first of the upper tier starters to come off the free agent board Monday as he quickly signed a two-year deal for $23 million with the San Francisco Giants.  Hudson comes off a 2013 season that was ended early with a broken leg but while on the mound pitched to a solid 3.97 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.

Analysis:  Good move by Hudson signing early as his age (38) and injury status could have cost him millions if he waited.  The signing takes the Giants out of the Bronson Arroyo sweepstakes as well.. Hudson meanwhile is only a SP 4 or 5 in non-innings capped leagues due to his low K rate.
