FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING NEWS: D-BACKS INK SP BRANDON MCCARTHY TO TWO-YEAR DEAL

The Arizona Diamondbacks signed free agent SP Brandon McCarthy to a two-year deal for $15 million pending a physical.  McCarthy missed the last month of 2012 after getting beaned in the head with a comebacker that fractured his skull but all signs point to him being ready to go for spring training.

Analysis:  McCarthy has pitched better than most people have thought the last two seasons, with a mid-3.00 ERA and solid WHIP.  However he doesn't strike batters out which doesn't play as well in fantasy baseball.  Going to the NL however should keep him clearly in the SP 4/5 category.
