FANTASY FOOTBALL ISSUES: IT MIGHT BE TIME TO DOWNGRADE CHRIS JOHNSON

Things are getting ugly between Tennesee Titans running back Chris Johnson and the team as he still has not reported and is showing no signs of doing so.  A similar case was seen in Philadelphia where WR DeSean Jackson finally reported on Monday after a holdout of his own.  The big key was that players who didnt report by Monday would lose credit for a season toward free agency.  That is why Jackson wound up reporting in order to preserve his shot at the market.  Johnson apparently has no worries about this and so we got to start coming to the realization that he will be sitting this out until he gets what he wants.  This has a tremendous impact on fantasy football due to the fact Johnson is a top 3-pick in almost all leagues.  With this hanging over our heads, its time to take into account that Johnson may not be there when the season starts.  I have now dropped Johnson behind Arian Foster, Adrian Peterson, and Ray Rice in the running back rankings and he could plummet even further the longer this goes.  Dont forget the lockout has him behind in his conditioning already and even if he shows up right before the season starts, the chance of injury will be siginificant due to him being out of of game shape.  I know for myself I will avoid Johnson this Sunday when my money league fantasy football draft takes place and I really have to caution you to do the same since we are talking about a first round pick.
